Look how cool this is!!! He turned out so beautiful!! 'Buttons' is my entry for the CSI (Create Something Inspiring) challenge. The theme this week is buttons and you could use them any way you wished in a creative form. Of course I had to do a seahorse! :)))

I went to the flea market the other day and agonized :) over what style and color of buttons to use. I was searching in the trays and suddenly spotted a small bag of tortoise shell shanks with silver 'Horse Head' images!! Well that ended my search right there because what could be cooler on a seahorse than horse buttons lol! I then searched further for the tail buttons and found a nice batch of rhinestone shanks in a few different styles, and they were perfect!

They all wrapped a lot easier than I thought too. I changed the wrap design just slightly so they would be stiff and not wobble all over. You can see the cool wrapping pattern in the fourth photo. Along with the buttons I included some small irregular shaped bronze glass beads for the nose, chest and tail tip and 2 gorgeous rhinestone rounds in the front chest area. At the same place I bought the buttons I found a lovely vintage rhinestone pendant for the head crest. In another stall I found the fabulous filigree 'back fin' (recycled pendant finding). All wrapped and accented with 22guage vintaj bronze wire!

I am just thrilled with him!!
